Kings Historical Society Silent Auction 2026

The Kings Historical Society Silent Auction runs from September 1st until December 20th 2026. These works of art have been graciously donated by members of our community. You can view these pieces digitally below or in-person at the Kings County Museum. Bids are collected using our Google Form or by calling our office at 902-678-6237. Winners will be contacted soon after closing for payment and pick-up. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us via phone, email, or in-person. 

 

 

Our Artists

Marion Evelyn Bortolin (1921 – 1999)

Marion was a landscape, portrait and still life artist who used both oil-based and acrylic paints. She focused on Canadian scenes, family, and familiar objects that portrayed a hidden story and beauty within the painting.

Though Marion was born in Toronto, she lived primarily in Lachine, Quebec. Marion studied piano at McGill University and had a career in marketing, finance, and later banking. Painting was her passion – a gift that brought joy to others.

Su-Lien Hsu

Su-Lien Hsu was born in 1941 in Miaoli, Taiwan. In 1976, she received a diploma from the Art and Crafts Department of Pingtung Normal College. She was a member of several art associations and learned watercolour and Chinese ink painting under various Taiwanese artists.

After retiring from a career in elementary school teaching, Su-Lien started studying oil painting in 2001 and continued studying watercolour painting under various Taiwanese artists.  The themes of her works are mostly landscape and flowers.

In 2006, Su-Lien received a New Artist Award at the 23rd Pingtung Fine Arts Association Exhibition, and won the gold medal at a local watercolour and sketching competition for senior citizens in 2011. She had two solo watercolour and oil painting exhibitions in 2012 and 2013, and joined many art exhibitions in southern Taiwan.

Su-Lien is currently lives in Pingtung, Taiwan.
