POSITION: IT WordPress Volunteer
Dealing directly with the Kings County Museum office manager this volunteer will help with navigating error messages on the WordPress Website as well as training the office manager on upgrades and/or changes to the website template. The IT volunteer is one who is familiar with the WordPress content management system and is also able to assist with site performance issues, fixing software bugs as well as website tweaks and occasionally adding functionality (plug ins).
This volunteer ‘s contribution would have a positive impact to the outreach of our Society. The Kings County Museum website is the online face of our organization and aims to inform people of our exhibits, meetings and events. It also hosts a online store (Woo Commerce). The IT support would allow us to navigate this medium effectively, directly contributing to the further realization of our mission statement “To preserve and promote the Cultural and Natural history of Kings County”.
Time requirement would be less than one hour per week plus emergency tech support when needed.
