The Genealogical Research Assistant supports researchers in the King County Museum’s Community and Family History Department (C&FH). The successful candidate will be responsible to help researchers complete genealogical research. The successful candidate will also be responsible to answer community history questions through email, phone, and in-person requests. The successful candidate will also be responsible to update C&FH records, which includes processing obituaries, updating community history binders, filing and processing reference donations, and uploading information to online databases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
Genealogical Research
- Help visitors complete family research
- Complete research requests and communicate in a professional manner
- Navigate and use C&FH resources
- Help visitors navigate resources
Community Research
- Answer requests
- Research and compile information
- Help visitors navigate resources
Administrative
- File and shelve material
- Process obituaries and add them to the appropriate databases
- Add to and organize community family history binders
