DESCRIPTION:Please Join the Kings County Museum on August 26th for its second annual Brush With Nature Short Brush event. \nCelebrating en plein air painting and the nature of Kings County\, participants are to paint/sketch/etc. within the Town of Kentville.  \nWant to join our Brush With Nature Event? Click here for more information.  \nRegistration for the Short Brush  is from 8:00 am – 9:00 am at the Kings County Museum. All paper/canvas/boards/etc. must be reviewed by a Brush with Nature volunteer and stamped on the back. \nPainting/sketching is from 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Artists have two hours to complete their en plein air artwork. Artists may pick a location within the Town of Kentville. Short Brush submissions should be brought to the Kings County Museum as soon as possible so our judge can view them. Short Brush submissions are to be displayed on easels for judging (we kindly ask that artists bring their own easel if possible). \nJudging will conclude at 12:00 pm and awards will be presented. \nAll are welcome to visit the Kings County Museum throughout the day on August 26th to view the paintings and see en plein air in action.

The search for Annie Winsor is a fascinating story of a woman’s longing to find her birth great-grandmother and her determined quest to reach her goal. With teasing archival threads and seemingly solid brick walls Anna Osburn’s search for Annie twists and turns towards its gratifying conclusion. \nIn our Community Room of the Main level. SUMMARY:War Time Knitting: Remembrance and Recognition
DESCRIPTION:Please join the Kings Historical Society and Four Seasons Fibre Group for the official opening of our exhibit; War Time Knitting: Remembrance and Recognition\, an initiative created and formed in recognition of the many Canadian men and women who served their country during WWII and the achievements of Canadian women who knit garments for the comfort of those enlisted. Exhibit features 31 hand knit items on loan from the Four Seasons Fibre Group . These items were made specifically for this exhibit using patterns from the Monarch Book of patterns published in 1941. Many pieces honour friends and family members. Also included will be selected items from the Kings County Museum Collection.
